Being a man

St. Paul invited the people in (1 Corinthians 16: 13) to Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Furthermore, it is translated in the Arabic version to be strong as men. This means to be courageous and brave. Such courage disappears several times in hardships. For instance, Adam blamed Eve for eating from the tree.

Many people try to appear as strong as they can, but this has nothing to do with being real men or brave. Strong people help the poor and the needy people. A man can cry, but can’t break his promises just like he can’t do bad work.

God sought Adam, but found him hiding behind the trees. The same happens at all times. God said in Ezekiel 22: 30: “So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.” This shows that manhood has always been rare. However, a man doesn’t have to hear the people flattering him, but he shouldn’t be a shame of himself when he looks in the mirror.
