Adel Abdul Nour, known as Asalia who had slain a Coptic alcohol merchant in Alexandria, refused to appoint a lawyer and asked the court not appoint a court-appointed attorney.
The defendant confessed to his crime and promised to kill all alcohol merchants.
Adel Suleiman, 48 years old, assured that he killed the man because he sells alcohol in his shop against the Islamic Sharia, and added that he had advised the Coptic man to stop selling alcohol, but he just ignored his advice.
