The Egyptian city of Luxor witnessed great celebrations on Monday at Karnak temple after the city was named the capital of Arab culture.
The activities started with a tour of the Minister of Culture Hilmi Al-Nunem with the Governor of Luxor, Mohamed Badr who opened a group of exhibitions of traditional handicraft products in Bazarat area.
The folk arts teams offered shows, which included folk songs and dances and a documentary about the historic city.
The torch of Arab culture was carried by a girl wearing traditional Tunisian dress and handed it over to an Egyptian girl in her pharaonic style.
