The young Muslim man Ibrahim Mohamed, 19 years old, headed to her house claiming he got married to the young girl.
Muslim mobs besieged the houses of Christians in the village seeking the victory of Islam and the return of their Muslim sister Amira. Moreover, Sheikh Haitham Bakry, Imam of Mohidat mosque, and a former MP led the demonstrators and tried to hold customary session to force the Christian family to hand over the girl to decide which religion she wants to follow. Yet, her family refused to obey such odd demand concerning a minor girl.
Aiman Zarif, Coptic activist, said that such attack was incited by members of the Muslim Brotherhood aiming to ruin the celebration of choosing Luxor the capital of Arabic culture and to prevent the Copts in America from supporting President Al-Sisi during his visit to Washington.
