Abba Agathon, Bishop of Magagha, declared his rejection of new agreement between Coptic and Catholic Churches.
Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark See, had said that he has not signed an official agreement that they would not hold baptisms for members of one church wishing to join the other. Pope explained that it was only a statement.
The controversial statement was refused by several laity and clergy whom assured that basics of the faith are not debatable.
