Journalist Suleiman Shafiq said that reconstruction of the church in Koum Ahmar in Minya was stopped by fanatics who demonstrated to prevent the construction work.
He explained that the church has obtained the due permits, but the construction works were stopped by police due to the demonstrations and attacks.
A number of perpetrators were arrested in the demonstrations for attempting to use violence and the matter is currently under investigation.
