Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. These are the words of St. Paul to pave the way before a successful man as described by Pope Tawadros II in his sermon last Wednesday.
God is the core of our joy since he grants us the salvation of sin. Jesus Christ is the way to this salvation, thus we should always rejoice in him who blesses our way, health, ministry, work and family. We shouldn’t allow anybody to take away such joy.
He called us to become complete in our relationship with the church and its sacraments and ministry. The church is the best way to save our children from the world and fill them with the holy spirit.
Being of good comfort means to take comfort of the word of God in the holy bible. St. John Chrysostom says that the Holy Bible is the Garden of the Soul. It is full of treasures and comfort. David the prophet said that the fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold,
Yea, than much fine gold.
To be of one mind means we should have love to one another. Let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth, as said by St. John in his first epistle chapter three.
Moreover, in order to live in peace is critical to Christians since the way to be sons of God is to live in peace and to spread peace. This is how we live our lives with happy hearts.
