Egypt delivers supplies to hospital in southern Burundi
Egyptian officials delivered a number of supplies to a province in south Burundi on Sunday, Al-Ahram Arabic website reported.
 
The Egyptian ambassador to Burundi and the deputy governor of Bururi province took part in a ceremony marking the delivery of Egyptian medical supplies to the local Egyptian hospital that was established in the province in 2007.
 
The supplies were provided by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development.
 
The ceremony also marked the hospital s ten years of operation.
 
A number of Burundian and Egyptian doctors were in attendance, as well as delegates from Al-Azhar and from the Coptic Orthodox Church s medical mission.
 
The Egyptian ambassador also delivered food supplies to patients in the hospital, while a number of the church mission doctors conducted free examinations of the patients.
 
The supplies have also included cultural, educational and entertainment materials.
 
The convoy also distributed 2 tons of corn seed to 100 poor families on Rutovu hill, which is a southern source of the Nile river.
 
This Egyptian supplies convoy is the second in Burundi in five months.
