Relics of St Peter and part of the dress of the Virgin were found in the Roman Church Santa Maria.
The relics were found in a tube where several names of saints were written on it.
In 1968, Pope Paul VI announced the discovery of St. Peters bones during excavations under the Vatican buildings near the monument to St. Peter.
