Patriarch Ibrahim Isaac Sidrak, the head of the Coptic Catholic Church, said during his visit to Rome, that the Christian community in Egypt is targeted among fears of increase of the attack against them.
He said after recent Islamic extremist attacks on Christian institutions, the Egyptian government stepped up security efforts to protect the minority population, but such efforts are not helping with the continued hate speech against Christians.
Sidrak was speaking at an event sponsored by the Italian branch of Aid to the Church in Need.
