I have spoken extensively in many dialogues, meetings and articles for more than 11 years on the need to activate the General Council of the Coptic Orthodox church to carry out the financial and administrative work through elected specialists, Politicians, judges, lawyers, doctors, financiers, businessmen, accountants, etc. This should enable the clergy to serve one master just like Jesus Christ said: no one can serve two masters.
The Holy Synod should be primarily concerned with the discussion of the legislative, priestly and theological situations. It should have nothing to do with financial and earthly matters. However, it is currently occupied with public relations and crises committees!
I ask His Holiness Pope Tawadros II and members of the Holy Synod: why do you insist on breaking the commandments and teachings of the Lord Jesus who said clearly that it is impossible for a servant to serve two masters, because he has to love only one master and to despise the other (Luke 13: 16)?
Dear Bishops, Your Eminences have to recognize and acknowledge the qualifications and experience of the Coptic laity. This will benefit the church, help you offer better service and concentrate on priesthood. This will not take your power away, but will make the people love you. However, it won t give you all freedom to travel abroad and spend money as you want whenever you want.
