The Egyptian and Jordanian armed forces have started the joint military exercise Aqaba 3, which is set to run for several days in Egypt.
The exercise will include drills by land forces from the southern military area, the southern fleet, commandos, paratroopers, the air force, and special navy units.
The exercise involves an exchange of expertise between the two militaries as well as maintaining readiness to plan, coordinate and conduct joint missions in the face of unusual threats and other challenges.
In recent months, Egypt has conducted several military exercises with a number of countries including Greece, Russia, the US, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.
