Power does not mean violence since violence only expresses weakness, while power means having true and unshakeable faith emanating from strong love supported with tolerance, patience and powerful prayer.
HG Bishop Benjamin in his article The Concept of Power told us about the meaning of power and its most important images. He explained that Power means victory over sin, seeking virtues and adherence to the right. Power appears in several images, the most important of which is Love. This means giving and sacrifice even one s life for the others justly like Jesus Christ and martyrs did. for love is as strong as death.. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away. (Song of Songs 8)
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth... Love never fails (1 Corinthians 13). Such love that made the Lord asks as to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. (Matthew 5: 44(
Secondly, the power appears in the depth of the prayer emanating from the heart which is heard quickly. Thus, the Apostles shook the place where they were gathered to pray, and everyone was filled with the Holy Spirit. Powerful prayers moved the mountains and made miracles.
Power means victory over Satanic wars through strong love and prayers. steadfastness in God s love and depth of prayer are the way to such victory, and this requires a constant spiritual struggle against sin. We pray for such strong love and prayers in order to achieve this victory.
