Cairo to host 5th Pan-Arab Endodontic Conference

The fifth International Conference on Endodontic Therapy (a procedure commonly known as a "root canal") will take place at Cairo s Dusit Thani Lake View Hotel from 5 to 8 December under the auspices of Dr. Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, Egypt s Minister of Scientific Reseach and Higher Education.

The head of this year s conference will be Dr. Salsabyl Ibrahim, professor of Endodontics at Cairo University and one of the leading pioneers in the field in the Arab word.
 
According to the conference s general secretary, Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Rahman, an Arab country is chosen every two years to host the event. Previous hosts included Jordan, UAE, Lebanon and Tunisia.
 
Dr. Abdel-Rahman added that Cairo s conference will be the largest of its kind so far, with more than 120 experts participating from 24 countries.
 
The participating countries include the United States (13 lecturers), Canada (two), Germany (three), France (four), Italy (three) Greece (one), UK (three), Australia (one), India (four), Malta (one), South Korea (one), Turkey (one), Lithuania (one), Nepal (one), Guatemala (one), Egypt (64), Jordan (seven) Saudi Arabia (five) , Lebanon (four), Tunisia (three), UAE (two), Iraq (one), Syria (one) and Kuwait (one).
 
The conference will focus on new scientific data in the field, including current updates in the use of stem cells and nanotechnology as well as other new developments.
 
20 intensive workshops will be held to benefit all participating practitioners.
 
The general sectary concluded by stressing that this three-day conference will be a unique opportunity for specialists to gain cutting-edge knowledge in different aspects of endodontics while visiting the charming city of Cairo, the largest city in the Middle East and Africa.
