A cooperation agreement was signed between the company s chairman Mohamed Saeed Mahrous and the UK Department for Transport s Aviation Security Operations Director Kashif Chaudry.
The devices will be installed at Cairo International Airport as well as other airports across the nation.
“These devices will be supplied without the Holding Company bearing any financial burdens, which saves the company around EGP 9 million,” the statement said without specifying the source of the funding.
Egypt has been calling for the lifting of the UK s ban on flights to Sharm El-Sheikh. British security officials have been reviewing security procedures at Egyptian airports since the ban was imposed after a Russian commercial airliner crashed in Sinai in 2015, killing all 224 people on board.
The UK Department for Transport recommended in September that the ban be lifted, according to The Telegraph.
