President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will hold on Thursday key talks with Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn.
The two sides are scheduled to hold a joint press conference after their talks.
Egyptian acting Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly received Desalegn on Wednesday after the latter arrived in Cairo along with a high profile delegation.
On the other part, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a joint meeting with his Ethiopian counterpart Workneh Gebeyehu ahead of the Presidential meeting scheduled to be held on Thursday.
“Both States should bridge all the gaps standing between them, in order to eliminate all the obstacles and realize the fruitful cooperation between Egyptians and Ethiopians,” Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gebeyehu said on the sidelines of his meeting with Shoukry.
