King Fouad II issued an official statement concerning the sale of furniture of his fathers palace, King Farouk.
Statement reads: Referring to what was recently raised about the sale of bedroom furniture of His Majesty King Farouk I at an auction in the United States, King Fouad II and his family would like to emphasize that all that was confiscated from the property of the family for the benefit of the Egyptian people has become part of the cultural and historical heritage of the homeland.
He added that he the government is responsible for both protecting it and filing lawsuits to restore them.
