Egypt s Ministry of Health launched the expanded national campaign to eradicate the Hepatitis C in cooperation with the Fund Long live Egypt , and the sheikh of Al-Azhar. the campaign comes in the framework of the initiative of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to declare Egypt free of Hepatitis C in 2020.
Dr. Ahmed Emad Eddin, Minister of Health, revealed that the campaign targets the age group from 19 to 59 years, which amounted to about 50 million citizens according to World Bank Report.
It s worth mentioning that the state received a $ 75 million loan from the World Bank to treat the disease.
