This was explained by Abba Bishoy, Bishop of Kafr El-Sheikh, in his article For if we live, we live to the Lord . Bishop Bishoy said that St. Paul was very concerned with preaching of the Gospel in all ways and everywhere till his martyrdom. His great ministry was a proof of his love to God, and this ministry didn t stop by his martyrdom as he continues to pray for us in heaven.
St. John the Apostle had a great message also as he wrote the Revelation and saw the things that must take place After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this. Moreover, he hosted St. Mary after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. However, he was longing to heaven as he ministered.
Let us learn from the life of the saints that life is useless away from God. Death is a gain in order to enjoy the existence with God.
