I know that in this article I defend an issue that has a big possibility of loss as speaking about America often provokes the anger of some people who advocate America s hatred by all means. However, my goal here is not to change their minds or to defend America. Yet, for me it is a question of principle, conscience and acknowledgement of favor of this great country where I lived for about 50 years.
Saying this does not mean I think America is infallible. The perfection belongs only to God and there is no virtuous city on earth. What ensures that no deviation happens is the state of law, which is applied in America. All citizens are subject to the rule of law, including the President. I witnessed an American President who lost his office because he covered a group of his men spying on the other party. They were convicted and sentenced to prison.
Perhaps racism is the worst thing attributed to America, but this problem was fixed over time till an African American became president of America.
America currently has the most powerful military in the world, but it only uses this power to lead the world to stability. It was a colony of Britain but decided to be independent and later became helper and protector of England and Europe upon the threat of Hitler in World War II.
Then there was a threat to humanity with the emergence of the Soviet Union and the spread of communism. Only America could face this threat and stopped Sadam Husein when he invaded Kuwait. America formed an ally to face ISIS and defeat it.
Yet, America s biggest and most important superiority is in the industry of life as it made an environment to success of all pioneers and inventors who made our life better by inventions such as electric bulb, plane, television, computer, internet, microwave, laser, and mobile phone.
America was the pioneer in space exploration and was able to put the first man on the moon. Such success wasn t used to threaten or subjugate humankind, but has used for the benefit of all people all over the world.
The computer is one of the most important things that were invented by Americans. It has revolutionized people s lives that it became difficult to imagine life without it. The computer helped to speed production and reduce expenses in companies and this led to a reduction in commodity prices. The personal computer made our lives easier and more fun though emails and social media, which turned the world into a small village.
The American people are good on charity works and facing all disasters like earthquake, tsunami, famine, and even wars. They immediately send aid for the suffering people through planes loaded with food and medicine and experts to save these wretched people regardless of sex, color or religion.
Human rights in America require a special article as it is a higher example and unbreakable rule. Jimmy Carter said that America didn t invent Human Rights, but Human rights did invent America.
It is strange to hear the words of criticism for America by people whose day dreams are to immigrate to America. Moreover, many of them receive American aid and start cursing America on daily basis!
