Egypt s National Elections Authority said late on Saturday that it would announce the final and official presidential election results on Monday, holding a press conference for the purpose at 3pm Cairo time.
According to preliminary results leaked to the media last week, the incumbent, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, has achieved a landslide victory, securing over 90 percent of the vote, confidently beating his only opponent Moussa Mostafa Moussa.
The voter turnout was more than 40 percent of eligible voters, according to the leaked information.
The official results due to be announced will include votes cast in Egypt between 26 and 28 March and those cast by Egyptians abroad the previous week.
If the leaked information is confirmed on Monday, it will mean El-Sisi is due to start his second four-year term as Egypt s leader, having been voted into office originally in 2014.
El-Sisi was elected after the removal from office of former president Mohamed Morsi in 2013 following large-scale protests against his pro-Islamist rule.
