Anyone reading the news right now would perhaps be feeling as though we are close to having a third World War at the moment between Russia, Iran, and North Korea allying against the majority of Western countries. Even Arab countries could get involved, such as Saudi Arabia.
The question on my mind is regarding Syria. Is Syria so important that it could cause a third World War? If it’s natural gas that is important, especially to Russia, then whoever will control Syria, will also be controlling
any gas going in/out of Europe.
Also, because Turkey wants to export their gas to Europe, that may hurt the Russias interests and thats why Russia is trying hard to say the West will not allow such a thing to occur.
What happened in Iraq after the United States invaded left Russia with a bad impression. If the US goes to war, its safe to assume that the war will never really finish and chaos will always loom behind them.
In conclusion, I want to emphasize that tension will escalate in the upcoming years but I dont think that escalation will lead to a world war, at least in the near future.
