Egypt s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry discussed on Thursday Egyptian-German bilateral relations with Volker Kauder, the majority leader in Germany s Bundestag, the Egyptian foreign ministry said in a statement.
Kauder is in Egypt to meet with Egyptian officials to discuss bilateral cooperation, especially military cooperation, as well as the war on terrorism and countering irregular migration.
Shoukry and Kauder also discussed the latest developments in Egypt s economic reform programme and recent positive economic indicators.
Shoukry expressed Egypt s wish to see Germany increase investments in the country, which currently stand at 4 billion Euros.
Shoukry also told Kauder that Egypt is encouraging more Germans to visit the country, expressing hope that Germany would ease its security restrictions on flights over Sinai, especially since Egypt has taken unprecedented measures to secure its tourist destinations and airports.
