Perhaps, as President al-Sisi said yesterday at a graduation ceremony for students of military colleges that the war on Egypt comes from inside. There are people who want to topple this country and those have launched 21 thousand rumors in three months. Such a number in a country that is working on economic reform and democracy as well as strong state institutions may have negative effect.
We are well aware that the Muslim Brotherhood are the main beneficiary of that evil action since they seek destruction of Egypt.
The main factors responsible for these rumors are the following: 1- some irresponsible media that wants to earn and raise the rates of viewing no matter what happens. 2- the increase in poverty rates and the suffering of the poor people. 3- the increasing rates of illiteracy gives greater chance to believe those rumors. 4- The delay or inability of government agencies to respond to those rumors, especially the decision-support center of the cabinet.
The law has to respond to such problem by the establishment of mechanisms of control and punishment on those who launch these rumors. However, the state has to be accurate when denying a rumor in order not to lose its credibility.
