I worked for a company in the Delta of Egypt where the project manager decided to celebrate the feast by buying a sacrifice and slinging it to eat its meat. I watched how they used all kind of violence to kill the cow.
They started to jump and tie it and twisted its neck before they start citing their prayers and slay it.
Being shocked, I discussed what has just happened with a Muslim colleague who didn t like such violence. I told him that God wants mercy rather than a sacrifice. Your prayers doesn t make the killing process more humane or even Halal.
I talked with him also about washing before performing their prayers and that it is a symbol of being in the divine presence.
Moreover, the essence of redemption and sacrifice is thatthe innocent person diesfor the sinners. The sin against unlimited person makes unlimited sin and needs unlimited sacrifice. It is mentioned in the Holy Bible about Jesus Christ He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth. (Isaiah 53: 7)
