As some new instructions are being issued by some bishops concerning dress code in churches and encouraging them to wear decent clothes, I would like to present this story in a short way, which was published in the photographer s magazine on August 26, 1927.

The magazine reads: "A delegation of Italian women met with His Holiness Pope of the Vatican asking for his blessing and support in their fight against indecent fashion considering it corrupted taste.
Head of the delegation said that women should spread awareness and awaken their conciseness. For his part, Pope said in a very brief speech that such act is part of the role of women in the society.
Pope stressed that women should be a good example and renounces the excess in fashion. They should have such good example not only inside their homes, but also everywhere.
So those women decided to fight such extreme fashion starting by themselves. This proves that such ideas come from the society and not from the religious leadership or clergy. This story happened about 100 years ago, but nowadays we can only issue orders without respecting human mind and civil powers. The real problem here is the decent way to communicate with the people and respecting their minds.
