CAIRO – The April 6 Youth, a group instrumental in orchestrating the massive protests that forced former president Hosni Mubarak to step down last February, called on Tuesday for massive protests nationwide on Friday to expedite prosecuting Mubarak and officials of his regime.

The group urged Egyptians to organise massive protests after the congregational Friday prayers to "save the revolution".
It demanded in a statement that the military rulers delay parliamentary elections, slated for September, stop military trial, release all political detainees and purge local councils of what it branded as remnants of the Mubarak regime.
