Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Sunday received a phone call from his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian, foreign ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez said in a statement.
The two sides discussed ways of boosting bilateral ties and shared views on the latest developments in the region, he added.
They also discussed the means to develop bilateral cooperation in all fields to serve the two countries interests.
Among the regional issues discussed were developments in Libya, Sudan, and in the Gulf.
The pair agreed on the necessity of continuous coordination and future consultations to enhance security and stability in the region, Hafez said.
