Egypt s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi is scheduled to open on Monday the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC), Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said.
The conference, which is organized by the UN agency of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), will wrap up on November 22.
More than 3,500 participants from 140 countries, including more than 50 ministers and deputy ministers from around the world, will participate in the conference.
The World radiocommunication conferences (WRC) is held every three to four years to review, and, if necessary, revise the Radio Regulations, the international treaty governing the use of the radio-frequency spectrum and the geostationary-satellite and non-geostationary-satellite orbits.
Revisions are made on the basis of an agenda determined by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Council, which takes into account recommendations made by previous world radiocommunication conferences.
