Egypt s Ministry of Health denied on Monday media reports that it will launch campaigns to inspect Chinese restaurants in seven governorates to counter Wuhan Novel Coronavirus that originated in China.
In statements to the media, health ministry spokesperson Khaled Megahed denied the media reports, saying that the ministry s food supervision directorate conducts periodic campaigns to inspect food establishments nationwide to make sure they meet the required health conditions and terms in accordance with the law.
On Sunday, several Egyptian news websites reported that the ministry is going to launch campaigns to inspect Chinese restaurants in seven governorates
Megahed added that the Ministry of Health declared a state of emergency in all the quarantines in Egypt s airports, ports and borders as a precaution against the outbreak of the new strain of Coronavirus.
The spokesperson stated that no case or suspected case of Coronavirus was recorded in Egypt.
