Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry embarked Saturday on a seven Arab countries regional tour, the Egyptian foreign ministry said.
Shoukry s first stop is in Amman, Jordan.
According to statements of the foreign ministry, Shoukry is going to hand over letters from President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to his counterparts in the Arab countries he is visiting.
In a tweet Saturday, Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali El-Hakeem said that Shoukry was going to visit Baghdad Sunday as his second stop where he would hand over a message from President El-Sisi to Iraqi President Barham Salih.
Shoukry s tour includes Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and the UAE.
