CAIRO – Mar Mina Church in Imbaba is preparing an iftar for national unity on Sunday, the official Middle East News Agency (MENA) reports on Saturday.
The gathering will include senior Muslims and Christians, in order to stress the importance of such unity.
“This event reflects the good relations between Egypt’s Muslims and Christians, who are part of the same fabric,” Cairo Governor Ali Abdel-Rahman, who will be participating in the iftar, was quoted by MENA as saying.
Sectarian clashes erupted between some Muslims and Christians at Mar Mina church last May. There were a number of victims, both Muslims and Christians.
