It was amazing to hear Egypt s Minister of Environment, Dr. Yasmine Fouad, saying that converting rice straw into fertilizer and fodder resulted in saving one billion pounds and provided 26,000 direct and indirect job opportunities for workers for a period of two and a half months.

This system helped reducing the pollutants that caused the emergence of the black clouds each year from August to November as a result of farmers burning rice straw in the fields instead of collecting and recycling them.
I was glad to know that the system developed and implemented by the ministry of Environment led to the prevention of about 27 thousand tons of pollutants. Greetings to the Ministry of Environment and to those who responded to its new system hoping that this great project will continue.
