Given the state of public mourning in the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Copts diaspora represented by the Copts abroad legal office asked the heads of the People's Assembly and Shura Council to postpone selecting the members of the founding committee for the constitution which is scheduled at March 21st, for one week that the Copts in Egypt and abroad may have a chance to nominate some people.
Awad Shafik, head of the Legal Office of the Copts abroad said that the Coptic people are more than 18 million, and this should be considered in the founding committee. He also refused the decision of choosing 50% of the committee from the parliament which is considered illegal.
