The Spokesman added that an extended meeting was held on the December 11th, which included representatives from Ministries of Agriculture, Irrigation and Health with European Experts to explore the means of deepening trilateral cooperation, Egyptian, European and African, in some of the African countries in sectors of health, irrigation, and agriculture by training and providing basic health care services, in addition to developing the infrastructures, in the light of the Egyptian field expertise in Africa, as well as the other Egyptian experiences gained in this respect, so as to implement joint Egyptian and European programs and projects to assist the Africans.
The Egyptian contacts and communications with the European side extend in the bilateral frameworks with major European countries and in the multilateral frameworks with the European decision making mechanisms in Brussels.
One of the most recent bilateral consultations was the 3rd strategic consultations between Egypt and Britain which was held on December 2nd in London, headed by Assistant Minister for Ministers Cabinet, Ambassador Wafaa Baseem, and UK Foreign Office Political Director Geoffrey Adams, wherein both officials exchanged points of view regarding the latest developments regionally and internationally, as well as the issues pertaining to particularly Middle East, Sudan, Somalia, the Horn of Africa, the Great Lakes, as well as Climate Change and the Nuclear Proliferation.
Egypt keeps exerting efforts to develop the European positions towards issues of the region, either in the Arab, Mediterranean, or African arena, that would serve the Egyptian interests in realizing peace, security and development.
