Nasser and Morcy!

Everyone knows what President Gamal Abdel Nasser did in Egypt, and how he led the country under the oppression of military rule, which wiped out the democratic regime that was existing before the revolution of July 23. He arrested the former President Mohamed Naguib and put him under house arrest until his death because Naguib said the army must return to its barracks and deliver the authority for the civilians. Nasser’s wrong decisions and miscalculations lead Egypt to the calamity of 1967, which wiped out the Egyptian army with its weapons with no effort by the Israeli army that destroyed all Egyptian airports.

With all these calamities, Egyptian masses came out demanding President Nasser to continue his ruling for Egypt after he announced he stepped down after the defeat of 1967. Demonstrations to support President Gamal Abdel Nasser, despite what he did to the country, are similar to those of MB that demonstarte each time President Morsy takes a decision.

After Morsy issues a decision, MB orders its supporters to demonstrate in the streets to support the president and to give the impression that those decisions are the right decisions. This happened even when he decided to restore the dissolved parliament by the largest court in Egypt, the Constitutional Court! Masses came out celebrating the decision, and the same happened when he decided to dismiss Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi and General Sami Annan as well as the abolition of the Complementary Constitutional Declaration or even after traveling abroad!

I wonder the feasibility of these demonstrations that were only criticized in the former era. Furthermore, these descisions are not yet proven to be the right ones, and his visists to Iran and China didn't bring any investments yet. Moreover, more than 60 days have passed since Morsy took office, and none of the problems that he promised to solve was solved such as: bread, removing trash from the streets, gas and security.

60 years ago, there were demonstrations to support Gamal Abdel Nasser, but now we know that he was the reason behind many problems and corruption in our society. Also we may find later that Morsy was wrong. We may find later that he has destroyed the identity of Egypt and opened the country to Hamas giving them our Sinai, after he had given them our diesel and electricity. Or he may be right and bring good to Egypt. Then, all of us can demonstrate to support his decisions.

I tell President Mohammed Morsy: I know that you are trying to do something for Egypt, but you have to work away from those fanatics who attack Copts, women, art, banks and tourism. They work for their own good and not for Egypt. If you follow them, your efforts will go in vain, and Egypt will be like Iran or even Afghanistan.
