Turkish hospitality chain, Rixos Hotels, said on Tuesday it has opened its first hotel in Egypt, located in the region’s beach destination, Sharm Al Shaikh. Rixos Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt is the chain’s 18th property after Rixos Residence Bomonty Istanbul opened in September 2012, the company said in a statement.
It added that the 695-room Egypt hotel is located in the heart of the city, set along the Nabq Bay. The property encompasses 695 rooms and suites, including 488 furnished rooms, 70 family rooms, in addition to 137 junior suites.
“Sharm Al Shaikh’s reputation as a dynamic and rapidly-expanding touristic destination was among the key attributes that prompted our presence in Egypt,” Basak Erel, Senior Vice-President Brand Management at Rixos Hotels, said in a statement.
Continuing its growth, Rixos Hotels lays particular focus on Eastern and Middle Europe, the Mediterranean Coasts, North Africa and the Arabian Gulf region. The group says its aim is to become a brand leader in the premium global hospitality industry.
The Turkish hotel operator opened its first UAE hotel in March on Palm Jumeirah, with the second one is planned in Ras Al Khaimah. The group has 10 more hotels in its current pipeline for the region, according to earlier reports.
