Qatar's emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, is scheduled to meet with Egypt's President Mohamed Morsi in Cairo on Wednesday to discuss strengthening ties between the two countries.
The emir visited Gaza on Tuesday, making him the first ruler to visit the strip since the Hamas government took power in 2007.
The meeting will look into various possibilities for collaboration, mainly on the economic level, but will also tackle the political situation in the Arab world and Syria in particular.
The Qatari emir met with President Mohamed Morsi on 11 August and later deposited $2 billion in Egypt's central bank.
According to data issued by the Central Bank of Egypt in July 2012, Qatari investments in Egypt climbed 74 per cent in the first quarter of this year.
