Egyptian President Mohammed Mursi met here Tuesday visiting European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Suma Chakrabarti on economic reform and increasing of European investment in Egypt.
During the meeting, Mursi briefed the EBRD chief on democratic reforms and political and security improvement in Egypt, Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Yasser Ali said.
He quoted Chakrabarti as vowing to boost European investments in Egypt as part of European support for the so-called Arab Spring countries.
He added the EBRD will open an office in Cairo in order to reassure investors worldwide that the situation in Egypt is stabilizing, the spokesman noted.
