The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday voiced concern over violence against Muslims in Myanmar, which led to the killing of 76 Muslims and the displacement of over 22,000 others.
The ministry urged in a release the government of Myanmar to take decisive and immediate action to stop violence against Muslims in Myanmar and to provide protection to the Muslim minority there.
It also called on Myanmar to ensure all Muslims in the country can practice their religious rituals in full freedom.
It cited a recent UN report on human rights in Myanmar as blasting its government for failing to take action against rioting in the country.
