Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights denounce preventing Coptic Christians from praying

Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights has  denounced the results of customary reconciliation meeting held on Sunday evening at Ezbet Marco Tala, Beni Suef, after many Muslims had attacked the Coptic Christians at the church. It was decided that Christians of other villages should not come to pray at the church of the village.

Egyptian Initiative added in a statement that such decisions was made in the presence of the police though it contradict the basic human rights and the constitutional declaration.

It added that there was similar incidents in last May at al-Basra village, America, where the Muslims demanded that St. Wannas church should not receive Christians from other villages. Moreover, Muslims in other places have demanded that the priest of the church should be replaced by another or the women have to dress in a certain way!
