Pope Tawadros II has said in his speech delivered by Abba Pachomius on his behalf that he takes such responsibility supported by the prayers of his congregation hoping that God will use him to serve everybody.
He asked the help and prayers of the late Pope Shenouda III who have successfully done his job.
He added that a lot of work has to be done for the Coptic Christians in Egypt and abroad in cooperation with all Christian dominations and Muslims to offer peace and love for everybody.
He finished his speech with prayers for the people in Gaza and Assiut for their suffering, and thanked president Mohammed Morsy and all senior officials and churches for their support and congratulations.
