Pope Tawadros received Sabahi and leaders of popular current

His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark See, has received Hamdeen Sabahi, founder of the Popular Current, and leaders of the Popular Current who congratulated the Pope on his official enthronement.

 

They have discussed the great history of the Coptic Church and its relation with Al-Azhar moderate Islamic institution as well as the importance of drafting a constitution that grants citizenship, equality, and freedoms for all Egyptians. 

 

Sabahi promised to continue his struggle in order to achieving the demands of the revolution including freedom and democracy.
