Cairo Criminal Court headed by Judge Seif Suleiman has sentenced 7 Coptic Christians abroad to death for “Offending the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and defamation of the Islamic religion and undermining national unity”.
The defendants are: Morris Sadek Gerges Abdul Shaheed, Markos Aziz Khaleel, Fekry Abdel Massih Zaklama, Nabil Adib Bessada, Elia Basily, Nahed Mahmoud Metwally, and Nader Farid Nicholas.
It's worth mentioning that the American priest Terry Jones is also accused of helping them and supporting them financially, and will be judged in absentia on January 29.
