Abba Armiah, general bishop, said that Pope Tawadros II, has deputed him to participate in the meeting with Grand Imam of al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, to stop violence in Egypt.
He added that this meeting aims to save Egypt as we don't want freedom mixed with bloodshed, but rather real peaceful transition.
Dr. Monir Hanna, Bishop of the Episcopal Church, said that the meeting is a serious attempt to save Egypt from violence and destruction.
Dr. Mohammed el-Baradie, founder of Constitution party, called in the meeting to found a dialogue committee to ensure a serious and productive dialogue, adding that he is optimistic in spite of having so many obstacles.
