I was suffering from headache when I read that comment on Facebook, which calls a Christian politician “The Coptic Judah”. As you may know that Judah was one of twelve disciples of Christ. This Judah has betrayed his Master and handed him over to be crucified. Only then, I suffered more from that headache as I was thinking about such description.
First of all, I think that this Judah had nothing to do with politics and will never have. This applies to Muslims, Christian and nonreligious politicians, as politics should be too far from religion.
It's kind of trading on religion to use this description for our political, economic or social opponents. I hope you consider the rest of my article before trying to cause even more failure and disagreement among the Coptic Christians in Egypt by using such language.
Coptic people are so different and each of them has his own views, understanding and religious leaders as well. We don't have only one religious leader right now as it was with Jesus Christ. Furthermore, the twelve disciples had a holly message and role, but the Coptic issue is not holy and is totally debatable.
This kind of language will only cause more disagreement and dispute, which will cause even more losses of Coptic rights and chances. I tell those Coptic activists who only care for their names and interests: “There is no time for such childish behaviors, as Egypt is being converted to a religious state, which is but a disaster.
Great writers and activists should only care for supporting their co-citizens and community, and shouldn't trade on religion to achieve their own interests. Judah was a bad guy that you can read about in the bible, and not in books shelved as politics.
