The Egyptian revolution has came to demand justice and equality among all all Egyptians. However, what happens now aims to humiliate and displace the Coptic Christians. For no good reason, Coptic churches and properties are attacked in the same manner, and most probably by the same people. However, the state doesn't take an action, and all this could have changed if it had.
After the Church and Coptic properties in Atfih, Empapa, Merinap and more were demolished, the military council hasn't taken an action. It only imposed customary sessions that wrong the Copts just like Mubarak's regime did and even with more oppression.
In all incidents of sectarian violence, groups of strange Salafis, according to testimonies, have joined the attackers who demolished the Coptic properties and churches.
This happens during the golden age of the Copts, as the Muslim Brotherhood claimed in their electoral platform. Moreover, Copts don't feel safe and they don't dream of building new houses of worship, but rather keep the existing ones undemolished.
Assaults against the Copts have increased significantly, and for no good reason; their properties are seized and they have to pay ransoms in order to get them back!
Few days ago, there was an attack on St. George church in Srsena village, Fayoum, where the Coptic Christians had to accept humiliating and unjust traditional reconciliation after a Muslim neighbor has complained about the hight sound of prayers in the church. Church had to build a five-meters soundproofed wall between church and the Muslim neighbor. Moreover, the Church can't enlarge the building anymore, and it had to floor the apartment of the Muslim neighbor to prevent such sounds of prayers!
Days earlier, St. Abu Fam Church was attacked as well as many properties of the Copts, but no one was accused as usual, which encourages the offenders to attack more and more churches and Copts.
I warn the government against the escalating anger of the Copts who may take many steps in order to claim their rights and to prevent such oppression including: demonstrations, sit-ins and even hunger strike. Finally, will president Morsy do something before it's too late, or will the Copts have to fight forever for their rights? The government should know that enough is enough!
