Thoughts about the Muslim Brotherhood

MB rule in Egypt is such a great loss, and continual distress as well as suffering. I have three thoughts about the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. First, about building churches: Abba Markos, bishop of Shubra al-Khaimah said, commenting on attacking St. Macarius Church by Salafis, that there are no churches built during Morsy's presidency.

I tell his grace that Dr. Morsy is only obeying the fatwa of Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al-Khatib, Mufti of the Muslim Brotherhood group who wrote in the Call magazine about building churches in a Muslim country. He said that “such things” shouldn't be built in new cities that were built by Muslims like Helwan and Maadi, and it should be demolished in the cities that was conquered by Muslims like Alexandria. Furthermore, cities that have surrendered, can keep its churches provided that it should never be restored later. In short, there is no place for churches under in an Islamic state or under the MB rule.

That's why the Muslim Brotherhood don't accept building new churches, and may demolish the existing ones as well. Therefore, Coptic Christians have to unite with the opponents, and if the church is not going to support boycotting the upcoming parliamentary elections or participating in a civil disobedience, at least it shouldn't prevent the Copts from doing so.

Second thought is about renting Egyptian antiquities to an Arab country for 200 billion dollars. It's funny to hear an official saying: this was but a proposal presented by a citizen and it was completely denied by the cabinet! If they care about some proposal of simple people, why the cabinet has never discussed the call of Dr. Mohammed el-Baradie and the Salafists Younis Makhioun any many others who have been demanding constitution amendments and new cabinet.

Third, we have heard about the MB promising the opposition to give them about 100 seats in the Parliament if they don't boycott the upcoming elections, and this is just as Mubarak did in 2005 in order to fake a democratic look for the regime.

Fourth, people of Port Said are calling the military to intervene and save Egypt from Morsy and the MB. However, the military will never do unless their interests and leaders are affected badly and massive popular uprisings all over Egypt are outbreak. Only then, the military may intervene. Furthermore, American Administration has to support the new revolution against the Muslim Brotherhood in order to see success.
