European Parliament has agreed to stop granting Egypt More aids during the current transitional period until it shows more progress in the field of human, women rights and freedom of religion.
Catherine Ashton, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, called President Mohammed Morsy to demonstrate more commitment to his promises, and to respect the basic rights and freedoms.
It also denounced 21 people sentenced to death in Port Said case, and called to generally suspend death penalty in Egypt.
It’s worth mentioning that European aid to Egypt is estimated at about 5 billion Euros for the current year.
