After choosing a new Pope for Rome, following the historical resignation of Pope Benedict, there are a lot of remarks and comparisons we should pay our attention to.
There are many people still asking why Pope Benedict resigned. There are many possible answers such as age, health, corruption in the Vatican, or even the scandal of sexual harassment related to some of the priests in the Vatican. It could also have been the only way to amend current relations with the Muslim world. There are many different interpretations as to why, but the only thing that all people can agree on is that he left his position for the interest of Vatican, as he himself announced many times.
Here is a comparison we should have Between Pope Benedict and Morsi. Morsi refuses to leave his position regardless of the consequences. He doesn’t care about the interest of the nation. He just cares about the interest of his group. Morsi doesn’t care about women, Copts or any other minorities. Morsi doesn’t care if the nation will be shattered soon or not. Morsi doesn’t care about how much citizens suffer every day from lack of jobs, security, or good education.
Morsi is nowadays busy with his group dominating the country. He wants everything to be, “Made by the Muslim Brotherhood.” Morsi doesn’t mind if Copts are killed in Libya or Egypt. Morsi didn’t do the same, however, when Emirates caught members of the Muslim Brotherhood. He sent delegates for them to negotiate with the Emirate Authority to release them. In the Coptic case, however, he didn’t even talk or mention the violence that Coptic members suffer from in Libya recently.
There is a big difference between Morsi and the Pope. The Pope follows an institution but Morsi follow his group. Morsi never hesitates to kill or imprison any one on the opposing side. Morsi manages a country for which he doesn’t even know how long its Eastern Coast is. Morsi is stubborn like Mubarak. He never listens to the good advice coming from the Opposition. Morsi lives in a conspiracy theory that will lead the country into a disaster.
Morsi doesn’t own his decision, but rather his decision in the, “Morshed Bokect” and what happened today proves that the “Guidance Office” governs us. Why has Hamas come and negotiated with Mohamad Badie and Khairat Elshater? What is the position of both to represent and negotiate on behalf of Egypt?
The Muslim Brotherhood is fooling all Egyptians, and we should pay attention to all these attempts. We should recognize the ultimate goal of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is to damage the history of Egypt for the sake of their interests.
The Muslim Brotherhood has always been a religious group, and knows nothing about politics. It should return back to its normal size and continue spreading oil and rice between poor people rather than managing a country, especially like Egypt.
